Craps Payouts

Craps is a dice game in which players place wagers on the outcome of the roll, or a series of rolls, of a pair of dice.

Craps is considered as the fastest-moving casino table game with the house moving about 100 decisions per hour. This makes a busy Blackjack table that runs around 60 hands per hour relatively slow.

Fast-faced action, coupled with the option to make unlimited bets at a time can cause a lot of strain on a tight bankroll.

That's why it is important to get to know the different Craps bets, the actual odds of hitting those bets, the payout (this may vary from casino to casino) and the house edge so you can make smart choices on where to put our hard earned money.

Since all Craps bets have a house advantage (as all casino games do), the best strategy to win in Craps is to have your own Craps table and casino!

But since we can't all be like Steve Wynn, all we can do is to try to reduce our losses by placing our bankroll on bets with the smallest house advantage.

The pass/don't line, come/don't line, place 6, place 8, buy 4 and buy 10 (only under the casino rules where commission is charged only on wins) are the best bets with the lowest house edge in the casino, and all other bets will on average lose money between three and twelve times faster because of the difference in house edges.

Craps is about dice and dice are about percentages. The smart money gives as little away as possible and that means Pass/Don't Pass at around 1.4%.

No matter how much we control ourselves and try to stick with the Pass/Don't Pass bets, sometimes the heat of the moment causes us to stray and place our bankroll on the 2 or 12 because it payouts 30:1. Who wouldn't want to hit a big jackpot? But consider the house edge at 13%.

A good way to control such impulse is to play Craps for free. Play our favorite Craps game now.
